Ensuring the safety of our community, especially our youth, is a top priority for CPKC Police and our partner agencies.  Railway Safety Week is a valuable opportunity to educate students about the dangers associated with railway crossings and trespassing on railway property.

To facilitate this education effort, we are partnering with Operation Lifesaver Canada (OL). OL is a non-profit organization funded in part by the Railway Association of Canada and Transport Canada (branch of the Federal Government of Canada). OL's role is to work with Law Enforcement, all levels of government , media, communities, and other organizations to increase awareness about rail safety. A link to the OL website is here. OL has created and provides free of charge, a Rail Safety Toolkit for Canadian Educators, and the toolkit is designed for students from K - Grade 12.  This free toolkit is found here. In the toolkit there will be various items such as colouring kits, PowerPoint presentations, videos, pamphlets, and other activity sheets.
